民国时期，外地求学的酒坊传人吴皖忠接到一封电报，让他迅速赶回家中，见病危老母，回到家之后，他才发现这是父亲的一个阴谋，想让他和王家女子结婚，取得药酒“红粉佳人”的配方。“红粉佳人”佳酿重新出世也是吴皖忠自己的想法，但他不屑于此种亵渎爱情的行为，为此他离开家，到省城从小工做起，力图证明光明大道也能实现心中理想。就这样，在挫折和磨难当中，吴皖忠终于成功。日本人侵略中国，为了坚守民族的信念，为了家、国、天下，吴皖忠把“红粉佳人”美酒变毒药，让这些刽子手在幻梦中走向灭亡。
《中国式结婚》和韩剧《看了又看》风格比较相似，也是通过日常生活中的伦理常情来展开故事，非常贴近老百姓的生活，唠家常似的台词，时常出现的幽默和笑料，既令人捧腹开怀，又发人深思。
