故事设定为上一集的两年后，原为航空公司地勤人员的篠田香织（深田恭子 饰）一念之起辞职，参加国家考试并完成了航空保安大学严格的进修，最后终于成为独当一面的航空管制官被分配到羽田机场管制部。充满了紧张、兴奋以及不安的她登上管制塔，在那的是一群即使面对紧急情况也能冷静对应的保护人命的专业人员，他们每一个人都有着独特的个性。筱田与资历丰富的在职培训管制官竹内裕美（濑户朝香 饰）一同执行航空管制，但因为疏忽而造成的错误，筱田差一点引起事故。镇定地注视着筱田的队友们没有人责怪她的错误，这反而让筱田更加内疚。然而在筱田听说让自己成为结城升（时任三郎 饰）和近藤幸宏（要润 饰）的管制官的想法后，她很快振作了起来。
